South Summit Triathlon

On Saturday (9/6/08) Shalyn competed in the South Summit Triathlon in Kamas, UT. It was her first time ever doing anything like it. She has been training for it all summer. There were 43 kids participating this year. Unlike most triathlons, this one started with running, then biking, and swimming last. She ended up finishing 3rd in her age group and receiving a medal. Her time was 27:56. When it was all over, she collapsed in the grass and looked like she was about to throw up. (fortunately, she didn't.) We're so proud of her. Two of her cousins, Jonathan and Nolan and her Uncle Dan all competed too. Dan finished first in the 40-49 age group. Jonathan was the overall winner of the kids triathlon, and Nolan finished 3rd in his age group.
