Cole

It's been a while (have I ever?) since I've done a post all about Cole. My 'baby' a term which I use lightly because he's not the size of a baby, is now 9 months old. He's a really sweet mellow guy always ready to give a big smile. He had his 9 month well-check yesterday and the doctor declared him to be in good health. I look forward to his well-checks so I can see where he falls as far as percentiles and compared to my other kids. When I got home, I pulled out all the baby books and found the following:

So, at nine months, Cole is my tallest, while Zane is my heaviest, and Shalyn, well she was in her own category!
--------Shalyn ----Avery -----Zane------- Cole
Height 27 inches 30 inches 29.1 inches 30.5 inches
Weight 18.6lbs --21 lbs---- 21.11 lbs--- 21 lbs

I have gripped on here about Cole's sleep before, something that has always been a struggle for him. When he was first born and for about the first month or so, he would only sleep if he was being held. The minute he was put down, he would be awake and screaming. We tried a variety of sleeping arrangements for him, everything from sleeping in his boppy, to his car seat with nothing working very well. I think the biggest problem was he really wanted to be a tummy sleeper. Once I finally relented at about 4 months and let him sleep on his tummy, his sleep some what improved. I say some what because he would still much prefer to sleep with mom than by himself. Most nights he's up 2-3 times for a quick feeding and a snuggle.

With all my other kids, I've resorted to having them cry-it-out by this point, but for some reason (maybe it's because he sleeps with Zane, or because Rob has to get up for work so early, or because Cole is so darn stubborn) I'm reluctant to do that yet.

Cole now has his two bottom teeth, but he still hates food---baby food that is. I have yet to find a jar of baby food that he'll eat. He loves cheerios, crackers, and bread. He ate chicken for the first time last night and did really well.

Cole has mastered the art of getting around. He started army crawling at 6 months and in the past month he has started crawling on all fours. He now pulls himself up and walks along things. He doesn't talk much, but he growls all the time. He also loves being wrestled with and playing with his siblings. We adore our baby boy!

Wow. He's gonna be a heartbreaker :)

So, I put both my kids on their tummies before they were even a month old.

I'm going to parent hell.
