Happy Birthday Monkey!

Tomorrow is Avery's 6th birthday! She had her party with her friends on Saturday. This year we opted to have a party at the house rather than going somewhere for the party. We had 7 kids in attendance. The girls at pizza, played games, ate cake, went on a treasure hunt (the pillows were the 'treasure', and watched Avery open her presents. I made her cake this year, it was a butterfly at Avery's request. It was hilarious, after we lit her candles I said, "Ready? (asking if they were ready to sing happy birthday to you) and right then, Zane leaned over and blew out her candles.

We typically take the kids out to eat at a restaurant of their choice for their birthday. On Sunday night, Avery asked if she could go to an 'astronaut' (her way of saying restaurant) for her birthday dinner. We asked her where she wanted to go and not too surprisingly (but unfortunately for us) she said McDonald's. Wednesday nights are extremely hectic at our house, so we told her we'd go out on Tuesday night.

Fast forward to tonight, Avery invited her buddies, Hailey and Ashley to come with us. The girls had a blast tonight! They ate happy meals, played on the slides and ate an ice cream cone. Between a soccer game, and Rob's class, we wont all be home tomorrow night so we let her open her presents tonight. We gave her Roller skates, a Care Bear DVD, two books, Care bear playing cards, golf tees, and a car from the movie 'Cars.' My parents gave her safety equipment (knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist pads) for her roller skates, and her other grandparents sent money.

Tomorrow I'm going to her kindergarten class with treats for her birthday celebration at school.
