Busy, Busy Week

I've had a lot that I've wanted to blog about the past week, but the time just hasn't been there. Last weekend, I was asked to be the secretary of the women's organization at our church. I agreed, and have spent so much time the past week trying to figure everything out.

I was thrilled this week with the election results. Unfortunately, I live the reddest state in the nation, so my vote didn't count much here. I hate that we still use the electoral college, it's so out dated. But whatever, I don't make the laws.

Ok, so how sad is this....My youngest sister lives in an apartment about 20 min from here while she goes to school. She has 3 roommates, one of which needs some serious psychiatric help. Anyways, Everyone except for the crazy girl is going to move out at the end of the semester because of crazy girl. This girl is seriously whacked, but I still think it's really sad. I hope some day she'll get the help she needs.

Rob had a bit of a panic at work today. His boss radioed him and used the forbidden words, "Rob, we need to talk." Seriously, those words send Rob into a panic. I have learned that if I ever want Rob to listen to what I'm going to say to never start a sentence with those words. There was nothing wrong, in fact, it was quite the opposite. His boss wanted to let him know that there is a higher position open and he had put Rob's name in for it. Rob should be getting a call for an interview sometime next week.

We started Sleep Boot Camp with Cole in the last week. If he wakes up before 4am, he's not allowed to eat. The first night was torture for all of us. It took him 90 minutes before falling back to sleep. During that time we tried holding him, rubbing his back, his paci, letting him lie in bed with us, etc. We are slowly seeing improvements in his sleeping. Last night he went to bed at 7 and slept until 4, and then again until 7am. A huge improvement over the 2-3 times he was waking up every night.

Shalyn got her report card for the first quarter. She did awesome, straight A's. I'm so proud of her. I think she's only gotten 1 B since 6th grade.

I had a conference at Avery's school with her teacher a few weeks ago. Her teacher had nothing but positive things to say about her. Avery is an awesome reader! She gets to pick a book everyday from her classroom library to bring home and read at night. She is on level 'F'.

Hopefully this next week will be slower so I can blog more!

Ahhh, I have a non-sleeper too! Audrey will turn one this month and she still wakes up 2-3 times a night. I have been giving her a bottle and she goes right back to sleep but it is going to kill her teeth. I need to get your "sleep boot camp" tricks!
