Ok so it's been forever since I've blogged. It hasn't been because of a lack of material, my kids give me tons to blog about, rather, I just haven't felt like it. Zane had surgery about 3 weeks ago to get a second set of tubes put in his ears. My poor boy has had really bad ears ever since he was born. The first set of tubes came out and within 6 weeks he'd had 2 ear infections. He did great with the surgery. The only 'issue' was they wanted him to wear hosiptal pajamas, and he wanted to wear his own. After he threw a fit and took off the hospital stuff, they said he could wear his own. The surgery was quick, he was back in less than 15 minutes. While in recovery, he ate graham crackers, oreos, club crackers and drank 7-up.
We went home and he seemed fine the rest of the day. The next day, he woke up and was fine, but just before noon Rob noticed Zane's knees were really swollen. They looked like grapefruits. Having no idea what was going on, Rob took him to the
insta-care. The Doctor they saw wasn't really helpful, he agreed his knees looked terrible, and said if they were still swollen tomorrow to bring him back and he'd do more tests on him. A few hours after they got home, he started screaming that his elbows hurt. We looked and they were now super swollen too. His knees and elbows both felt hot to the touch and Zane would scream in pain whenever we touched them. We put him in the bath to see if that would help, his armpits were now swelling too. While in the bath, he broke out with hives all over his torso. He would scream when ever we would touch him. Rob and I got really concerned at this point, grabbed him (as gently as possible) out of the tub, dressed him, put him in the car, and headed to the ER. When we got there, the waiting room was packed. There had been several major accidents on the freeways during the evening commute. After watching two ambulances and one helicopter arrive, we decided we would be there for hours and opted to leave. Initally we were going to go to an ER at a different hospital, but in the end we decided to go back to the
Insta-care. We got there 5 minutes before they closed. We saw the same doctor who determined he was having an allergic reaction to something, most likely something from his surgery. He gave him an antihistamine and sent us home. I did some online research on the drugs Zane received at the hospital. Although I don't know for sure, I'm pretty sure he had an allergic reation to the versed he was given. His reaction was text book for that drug.
Happy to be in his own pajamas

Welcome back....I really missed reading about my little buddies!
Poor lil guy sounds like he had a rough few days. So glad he is feeling better now. :)
So Sorry you have had waaaaay tooo much stress in your life right now! Hope things will be better soon -just in time for summer!ha!
That is too funny that he had an issue over wearing the hospital pajamas. Hudson did the same thing. He didn't even cry when they drew his blood, but he cried when they made him change into the hospital pajamas. I hope your little guy is feeling better.
