Crap....
I just found Shalyn's cell phone in the washer. Apparently she left it in her jeans when she threw them in the dirty clothes pile. And I being the good mom that I am decided to do laundry today. So here's a question to all of you....what would you do about replacing the phone? Would you buy her a new one? Make her pay for the new one? Split the cost 50/50? (Just FYI, this wasn't an expensive phone, just a freebie she got when we added her to our plan 2 years ago.) Not replacing her phone isn't an option because she flies alone to CA once a month and her having one just for that trip alone is a necessity.

Did you try to let it dry out and see if it works. That worked for Justin...he sent his through the wash...waited like 3 days and it worked again.
Otherwise, I would maybe try splitting the cost...for her not checking her pants and for you not checking them either. (Not that you have all the time in the world to do that...I know! I don't know how many things I've washed that I shouldn't have!)
It's all about responsibility... I'd tell her you split the cost up to you paying X dollars and if she wants a phone that costs more than that, then she pays half plus the difference. But first... try drying it out for a few days...
