We celebrated Zane's second birthday tonight. Tonight is the only night this week Rob will be home and Shalyn is flying to CA for her dad's wedding on Thursday. So, we had my sister and her family over and had a party. Zane loves the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar (he loves it so much he's destroyed two board books of it.) I wanted to make him a cake of the Caterpillar. I am very pleased with how it turned out.
After everyone had cake (well except for Rob and I because of our dang diets. We had a fake cheesecake instead.) Zane opened his presents. He got a card and $10.00 from his Grandpa Bob and Nana, a card and $3.00 from his Great Grandma Margaret, an inflatable slide you can hook your hose to from his Awma and Papa, A swimming pool (with a 10 Nemo fruit snacks decorating the wrapping paper) from Aunt Laura and Uncle Dan, a set of golf clubs, a Thomas the Tank Engine and a Little Tykes Slide from us. He had a great time tonight. He didn't even fight his bedtime tonight.
On Friday, his real birthday we're going to take him to Jumpin' Jacks and then to McDonald's for lunch.
Diet update---5 days into it and we're both down 6 lbs.
