Zane's night out

Rob and I decided that we want to spend more one on one time with each kid. One way we are going to do this is each month, one of the kids gets to go on a special date with just mom and dad. The math was easy, we have 4 kids, there are 12 months so each kids will get to go out with us 3 times during the year. We wanted each kid to be able to go out with us during their birthday month so we started there and made the rest of the yearly schedule that way.

Last night it was Zane's turn to have a date and he got to choose where we went. It was an easy choice for him, he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. Shortly after Rob got home from work yesterday we loaded up Zane in the van and off we went. It was really sweet, when we first started driving away he got worried and said, "Where's Colie?" We told him that it was just going to be mommy and daddy and Zane. Then he started whimpering saying, "I want Colie." That melted my heart.

When we first got to Chuck-E-Cheese, it was really crowded, but a lot of people left shortly after we got there. Because we had coupons, Zane got 48 tokens to use by himself. At first he was a little overwhelmed with all the different things to do and all the people, but he quickly figured out what he wanted to do. He had a blast. He didn't want to stop when our pizza was ready. I was really bummed, I forgot to bring the camera. Zane loved playing the games and going on the little rides. He ended up with 150 tickets. He spent all of the on candy (no surprise there.) He wore himself out, he fell asleep on the way home and pretty much stayed asleep while I brought him in the house and got him ready for bed.

We had so much fun with our little guy. Next month it's Avery's turn!
