Last night I baked a chocolate oreo cake for a funeral luncheon today. I covered it with foil and left it on top of the stove. Early this morning (around 6am) I was in my room feeding Tate. Cole and Shalyn were both up. All of the sudden I hear Shalyn yelling, "NO COLE!!! That isn't for us!!!" It took me a few minutes, and then I figured out what had happened. Cole had gotten into the cake. After I put Tate back down, I went and surveyed the damage...The cake had two huge handfuls missing from the middle. It wasn't salvageable at all. I got dressed and with Cole in tow headed to Maceys for another cake mix and box of oreos. After cake #2 finished baking, I put it in the van to avoid any further mishaps.
A few hours later, I was in the den when I heard the microwave turn on. Expecting to find sparks flying and some sort of metal in it I was relieved to find that Cole had only put a bowl of grapes in the microwave for a minute.
A short time later, I was on the phone and Cole was eating grapes (not the microwaved ones), I looked over at him and saw him lining up grapes on the floor under the rocking chair. He was trying to line them up so when he rocked the rocking chair the grapes would get smashed.
The cashier at the grocery store said the most fitting thing about Cole, "He can avoid everything except for temptation!" He is truly a naughty little stinker, but he has such charisma that it usually keeps him out of major trouble. The other day I was trying to get him into his car seat and he was being a squirrel. I told him he had to the count of three to get in his seat. I counted, 1, 2, 3, on 3, Cole shouted "Not it!" Guess he's been listening to his older siblings.
It's a good thing we love him so much as he is so exasperating!!!

HA!! I love how he eats the cake to, all over his face he probably just shoved it in.
Wow I didn't know this side of Cole. Yes Adilyn can be naughty to but then the sweet innocence comes out and you have to laugh.
