Weekend update

I guess it was inevitable, all four kids ended up sick with swine flu last week. Fortunately, last week was also their 'fall break' meaning there was no school on Thursday or Friday. Avery didn't get sick until Thursday so she didn't miss any school. Poor Shalyn is going to have to work her little tail off as the term ends this week meaning she has to get all of her missed assignments made up pronto. All four are doing much better now. Honestly, in my mind swine flu has not lived up to all the hype the media has made about it. Sure, it sucks, but don't all illnesses? Never once did I feel my any of my kid's lives were in danger.

Rob and I will be celebrating our 8 year anniversary on Tuesday. Since Rob has school that night, we went out on Saturday night. We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, PF Changs and had an awesome dinner. After dinner we wandered around the mall. Gymboree was clearing out their remaining summer clothes, most things were 3.99. I bought 13 articles of clothes for just over 50.00. Me being the dork that I am added up the original retail prices and would have spent 267.50 had I paid full price.

Over the weekend, Zane developed a new obsession---Vacuuming. On Saturday I let him Vacuum the living room and on Sunday as I was waking up he greeted me with, 'Can I please vacuum now?' Rob had been telling him all morning he had to wait until mom woke up before he could vacuum. Our den and living room got vacuumed again thanks to Zane. This is one obsession I hope he keeps up.
