Those scheming ladies!

I'm talking about the ladies I work with at church. I got a call from Becky yesterday to tell me they were going to visit with a lady who goes to our church and asked if I wanted to go with them. Becky said her sister would be at her house and was willing to watch my kids while we went. I agreed and we were going to go this afternoon.

So fast forward to today... Around 1 I packed up the kids and went to Becky's to drop the kids off. The other ladies, Aileen and Stephanie were already there. I got the kids settled with Becky's sister and we left. I thought we were going to walk to the other lady's house, she lives close to Becky, but they all started getting into Aileen's truck. I thought whatever and got in the truck. I was a little suspicious, but didn't say anything. So Aileen started driving to the lady's house. When she got there, she flipped a u-turn and started driving away. I said, "what are we doing." They all started laughing and said they were taking me to lunch for my birthday (it's later this week.)

We went to lunch and had a great time. But, I felt like such a lame-o. I figured I'd be leaving my kids for 30 minutes tops, so I didn't bring anything for them, no diapers, snacks, etc. I also looked a complete mess! You know it's bad when the first word someone says when they see you is "You look really tired." I was, I was up for 2.5 hours last night with Cole (more about that later). After I showered this morning, I just pulled my hair back into a messy ponytail. I never got around to putting in my contacts or putting on any make-up. Oh-well, that's how it rolls sometimes. I don't get tricked very often, but I have to admit, I didn't even see their little scheme coming. Thanks ladies!
