The irony

When we bought our house 2.5 years ago, there were 3 bedrooms. The basement was unfinished with potentially 2-3 more bedrooms. At first, Avery and Shalyn had their own rooms, but a few months before Zane was born we moved the girls into 1 room and created a nursery for Zane. The girls shared a room until late last summer. For the most part they did well sharing a room. There was some occasional complaining, especially when it came to who had made the messes and who had to clean it up.

Last summer, my parents thought the girls should have their own rooms, so for an early graduation present for me, they paid a contractor to finish two of the bedrooms downstairs.
The contractor finished the rooms in early October. We let the girls choose the paint color for their new rooms, Shalyn chose a light purple and Avery chose turquoise. It was early December when they moved into their rooms. They were so excited to have their own rooms.

However, lately the girls have been wanting to sleep in the same room again. I think it's been about 3 weeks since Avery has slept in her own room.
