Balance

This week, both Shalyn and Avery have been working on balancing. Shalyn bought a ripstik for her self which is kind of like a skateboard with only two wheels. She's getting better and better at it everyday. Getting on is proving to be her biggest challenge. I think we've finally found a use for the ugly green utility boxes that line our property. They have been great for Shalyn to hold onto while she gets on her ripstik.

Avery had a major triumph this week. She's mastered the art of riding a two-wheeler. We took her training wheels off a few months ago. This week she was determined to learn how to ride her bike. Rob and I worked with her a few times and she'd do fine until she realized we had let go, then she'd freak out and jump off the bike. A few nights ago, some of the little girls in the neighborhood started helping her. As soon as Bailey and Ashley helped her, she had an immediate boost in her confidence and she's done great ever since. Now, she tears around the neighborhood on her bike like a mad-women.

We're leaving for our vacation tonight, heading to CA to visit the Grandparents. We're hoping for a fun, relaxing, uneventful trip.

Ripstick eh? I'm pretty sure I'd rip something if I tried that thing.

You go girls!
