Halloween

This year Halloween went on for days! The kids didn't have school on Friday, so on Thursday Avery and Zane had Halloween parties at their schools. The kids spent all day Friday talking about Halloween and carving pumpkins and then finally Saturday came. In the afternoon, Shalyn and I took the kids downtown to the trick-or-treating on Main street. We got there right at 1 when it started hoping to avoid some of the crowd, which we did for the most part. My only gripe is the businesses that set up 'fun games' for the kids because it creates such massive jams of people. The kids spent the next few hours bouncing off the walls from their sugar high waiting for it to get dark so they could trick-or-treat in the neighborhood.

Shalyn, dressed as someone who just got out of bed, left at 5:30 to go with her friend to a trunk or treat, and then went trick-or-treating later. At just before 6, Rob took a cowboy, a fireman and a kangaroo and left for their halloween fun. I stayed home and passed out candy to about 200 trick or treaters. Around 8pm three very tired and cold trick-or-treaters came back home. They spent the next hour fighting over who got to open the door and pass out candy. Shalyn and her friends had a massive candy trading session and then she came home a little after 9. All in all, I think everyone had a good halloween.
