Zane posing for a quick picture before leaving for his first day of school.
Yep, that's me, I embarrassingly accept the award. Today was Zane's first day of Pre-school. He's been looking forward to this day for weeks now. School started at 11:30 this afternoon and it lasts for 2.5 hours.
Today is one of those insanely hectic days at our house. After dropping Zane off at school, I had to hurry home and get Cole down for his nap so we could be at Avery's school for their grandparents/parents program at 1:30, then from there I had to pick up Zane from school, get Avery ready for pictures (which are at 4) take Avery back to school at 2:45 for her 4H club, get Shalyn ready for pictures, pick up Avery 20 minutes early from 4H, take the girls to Beth's for their pictures, get Shalyn to her volleyball game at 4:45, come home, make dinner get the boys to bed and get Rob out the door for his class tonight. Whew! I get tired just typing that. So with all that craziness, something was bound to go wrong.
Somehow I got it stuck in my head that Zane wasn't out of school until 2:30, even though yesterday I was fully aware that his school gets out at 2. So like a moron, I loaded Cole into his car seat just before 2:30 to pick up Zane. Right as I was pulling up to Zane's school something clicked in my head and I realized that his school was over at 2 and not 2:30. I parked and ran into his classroom feeling so incredibly stupid. I profusely apologized to his teachers. Zane was sitting there playing not the least bit upset that he was the last kid there.
So two days ago in my blog I was bragging about how much I rock, well today I'm hanging my head in shame telling you all how much I suck.
Zane playing in the kitchen at school right after I dropped him off. He was so excited about being there that he wouldn't tell me goodbye.
