Where did the summer go?

My girls start school tomorrow! Shalyn will be in 9th grade, and Avery will be a 1st grader. Our summer was so busy that it just flew by.

We started our summer off with a trip to California for my sister, Leslie's wedding. We got back home on a Tuesday then on Friday, Shalyn flew back out to CA to spent the weekend with her dad. She got home on Sunday night and on Monday left for girl's camp that lasted until Friday. We were all home together for a week. During which we used our seven peaks (waterslides) passes a lot. Then, on Tuesday June 30, we left on our two week road trip. We got home on July 14. Shalyn was back in Utah for less than 15 hours before leaving on the 15th for her dad's for three weeks. While she was gone, the little kids and I went to seven peaks, and had pretty low key days. On August 1, Avery got to go on her own adventure. She flew by herself to CA to send a few days with awma and papa (my parents). She felt so grown up! She had a ball being the only kid and getting all of the attention. She and Shalyn flew back together on August 5. The next morning, Shalyn once again left and went to Youth Conference for 3 days. She got home on Saturday and had a week and a half until school started!

After reading all that, I think you can see why our summer went by so fast! Both girls are really excited about going back to school. Last night was an open house at Shalyn's school so she got to see all of her classes and meet her teachers. She will still go to the Jr High this year, it's 7-9th grade. Next year she'll get to go to the brand new high school. Tonight we have an open house at Avery's school. She's really excited to meet her teacher. Then on Thursday, we have pre-school orientation at Zane's school.

Today will be spend buying last minute school supplies that we found out we needed last night.

We have one last 'adventure' planned for mid September that we're all really looking forward to. The girls are going on a trip with just mom and dad, while the boys go spend a week in CA with my parents.
