1st Day of School-Avery

Today Avery started Kindergarten. Last night, she was too excited to sleep. It was after 10pm before she finally settled down and went to sleep. Her teacher is Mrs. Lyman and I'm so happy Avery is in her class. Avery had an outline of a person she was instructed to color and bring with her on the first day of school. Avery colored the shirt purple and the shorts blue. When picking out her clothes last night for today she insisted on wearing a purple shirt and jean shorts.

Her classroom is right next door to her last year pre-school. When we arrived at school, two of her teachers from last year, Miss Dana and Miss Nicole were waiting in the hallway to greet her. After a quick hug from them off she went into her classroom where she was met enthusiastically by Mrs. Lyman.

Mrs. Lyman put a name tag on her, then Avery put her backpack in her cubby and off she went. Avery was as cool as a cucumber, no first day jitters for her. She's been looking forward to this day for a long time.
