Spoke too soon....

So about a week and a half ago when I blogged about Cole getting his cast off and proclaiming his leg to be 'good as new,' I apparently spoke too soon. Over the past few days, I noticed Cole wasn't willing to put much weight on his right leg. Then, yesterday when I was on the phone with my sister, out of the blue Cole started screaming hysterically. He was standing (he had weight on his right foot) at his play kitchen screaming his head off. I picked him up and a few minutes later he calmed down. I was pretty concerned about Cole's leg, he was definitely screaming in pain, so I started manipulating his leg, trying to figure out what was up. When I'd put pressure on the bottom of the foot he'd wince in pain. I called the Doctor who had been treating his leg and explained how Cole was reacting. They were full yesterday, but scheduled him for today.

They x-rayed his leg again and the x-ray looks really good. The doctor manipulated his leg by squeezing it, putting pressure on it, etc. She got the same reactions I had the day before. So even though the bone looks, he's obviously still in pain. She was going to put a new cast on him, but decided to check and see if they had a boot small enough for him. They did! So Cole has to wear a boot on his leg for the next two weeks. He's napping now, but when he wakes up, I'll take a picture of him. It's so stinkin' cute.

Poor guy! Did they have any idea why, if it has healed so well, (according to x-rays) he has so much pain? I hope his leg really is "as good as new" soon. Summer's coming! :)
