We threw a surprise birthday party for her on her actual birthday with some of her friends from church. We had a silly dinner, I told the girls we were all out of silverware and that they would have to improvise a little. Each girl drew a number and got the corresponding utensil, spatula, tongs, chopsticks, ice cream scoop, a tsp, a baby spoon, etc. The girls were really good sports and had a lot of fun. Then, they went off on a photo scavenger hunt. Each team had a digital camera and a list of things they had to find and take a picture of. Later, my very talented friend, Gayle came over and made beautiful bracelets with the girls. They played a variety of night games and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Shalyn left today for the rest of the week to attend a girls camp sponsored by our church.
She went last year and had a blast (minus being evacuated a day early due to wildfires in the area.)

Ah, what a nice mom to plan such a fun party! Micah turned 9 this year, hard to believe he's half-way to adulthood!
